First hiking day – with a local guide
Your guide will pick you up from your hotel in Lucerne and you will hike for approx. 4 hrs with about 200 m/650 ft of height variance during the day.
Depart Lucerne on a lake steamer to Beckenried, take the cable car to Klewenalp (1593 m/5220 ft) to begin your hike along the dedicated ‘wild life trail’ to Stockhutte cable station.
Descend by cable car to Emmetten to catch a postal bus to Seelisberg.
Overnight in Seelisberg.
Self-guided hike from Seelisberg to Brunnen
Hike for 2 to 3 hours from Seelisberg to Bauen; take the lake steamer from Bauen to Brunnen.
Option to hike on further and take the lake steamer or train to Brunnen from other departure points.
Overnight in Brunnen.
Self-guided hike from Brunnen to Rigi Kaltbad
Walk through Brunnen to the Urmiberg cable car station and ride up to the top (1198 m/3930 ft) and then enjoy an easy to moderate 5 to 5 ½ hour hike to Rigi Scheidegg and on to Rigi Kaltbad.
Overnight in Rigi-Kaltbad
Bad weather option:
Take the train to Arth-Goldau, transfer to the Rigi Bahn cog wheel train to Staffel and then either walk or take the train on to Rigi-Kaltbad – approximate transportation cost CHF 50
Self-guided hike from Rigi-Kaltbad down to the lake and return to Lucerne
* Hike up to Rigi Kulm for a fantastic view, then take the cog wheel train to Vitznau and transfer by boat to Lucerne; or
* Cable car down to Weggis, take a short walk to the harbor and return to Lucerne by boat.

After breakfasting at the hotel, check out and follow your own onward travel arrangements.
